Virginia TE Coach Ricky Brumfield & Director Of Communications Jordan Arcement Talks About Recruiting Louisiana, Playing In The Orange Bowl, Getting The Cavaliers To The Top Of The ACC

New Orleans native Ricky Brumfield is going into his third season at Virginia after joining Bronco Mendenhall’s staff in January of 2018 as the program’s special teams coordinator. In July of 2020, Mendenhall announced that Brumfield would also serve as the tight ends coach.

Brumfield, who enters his 20th season as a collegiate coach in 2020. He started his coaching journey in 2001 at Union College where he was the special teams coordinator & WRs coach. In 2004 he moved on to Fairmont St where he would spend six seasons before going to Nicholls St in 2011. His next two stops would be to Western Kentucky & then to the University of Texas-San Antonio where he would coach under the legendary Frank Wilson. 

​The Thibodaux native Jordan Arcement is going into his third season at Virginia on the player personnel side as the director of communications for the team. 

Arcement started his coaching journey coaching WRs at his alma mater E.D White High School for two seasons & then at Ellender High School for three seasons before coming to Virginia. 

​He was also known for training many of the top receivers in his area that went on to sign scholarships at division one schools. Ja’Khi Douglas (Florida St), Davontavean Martin (Washington St), Kyren Lacy (University of Louisiana-Lafayette) are some notables that Arcement trained in Bayou area. 

Ricky Brumfield & Jordan Arcement has played a huge role into why Virginia has landed six Louisiana kids the last two years. But they are no where near done yet & have plans to keep the pipeline from Louisiana to Virginia an ongoing trend for years to come. 

​Brumfield & Arcement sat down to do a zoom interview with G-Sportz to talk about recruiting Louisiana, their experience going against Florida in the Orange Bowl this past season, getting the Cavaliers to the top of the ACC, & more.
