TO CHECKOUT FULL HIGHLIGHTS & INTERVIEWS CLICK THE LINK BELOW!! After a much needed win on the road in the swamp versus the Florida Gators, the LSU Tigers are -1.5 favorites to upset No. 7 Ole Miss. Last year Ole Miss defeated LSU 31-17 & the only team they’ve beaten this season that’s worthy of mentioning is Kentucky. The Rebels are ranked third in the country in rushing yards & first in rushing touchdowns led by true freshman Quinshon Judkins along with Zach Evans. This could be problems for the Tigers especially with how they’ve struggled with tackling this season. The uptempo offense that Lane Kiffin loves to run could also take the crowd noise out of the game as well. Keys To Winning For LSU -
The LSU Tigers improved to 4-1 overall & (2-0) in SEC play scoring 21 unanswered points to win 21-17 after overcoming a 17-0 deficit in the first half vs the Auburn Tigers on the road. It was clear that the strip sack by edge rusher B.J Ojulari & Jay Ward scooping up the fumble to return it 23 yards for a touchdown was the turning point in the game. It’s probably safe to say if this play doesn’t happen, the Bayou Bengals would have gotten routed in this one. TAKEAWAYS - 1.) The passing game for LSU was very below average finishing with 85 yards. Running back John Emery led the team in receiving with 39 yards, which is not a formula for success 2.) The running game was pretty solid with all three backs Josh Williams, John Emery, & Noah Cain averaging over 4.0 yards a carry. They combined for 126 yards rushing & controlled the clock in the second half. 3.) Although the defense gave up over 400 yards of total offense, they forced 4 turnovers & played lights out in the second half. 4.) Edge rusher B.J Ojulari continues to raise his draft stock with how he played True freshman linebacker Harold Perkins is ascending right before our eyes Defensive tackle Jaquelin Roy is a MAN in the middle Defensive backs Jay Ward, (Arkansas transfer) Greg Brooks, & (UL-Lafayette) Mekhi Garner were terrific most of the game. They’ve also been the most consistent in the secondary through the first 5 games 5.) To say LSU has to true freshman starting at both tackle spots & two sophomores at guard, the offensive line stood out. Daniels had a plethora of time to throw the ball on many occasions & they were able to run the ball effectively. KEYS TO BEATING TENNESSEE - Spread at -2.5 Tennessee 1.) Jaiden Daniels can’t lead the Tigers in rushing & he’ll have to throw for 225 yards or more especially with Tennessee’s secondary being 1 of if not the biggest weak link on the team 2.) Hold Tennessee’s offense under 28 points because they’re averaging a whopping 48 points per game 3.) Defense needs to force at least 2 turnovers 4.) Hold the Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker under 40 yards rushing 5.) The offense needs to convert at least 50% or better on third downs The Ellender Patriots came out victorious versus their rival South Terrebonne Gators 26-9 for the second year in a row. Both teams were scoreless in the first quarter & then Peyton Martin finally got the Gators on board with 25 yard field goal to go up 3-0 with 5:23 left in the second quarter. The Patriots finally got their offense going when Kade Adkins hit Michael Crawford for a 43 yard touchdown pass to take a 7-3 lead with 3:30 left in the second quarter. A critical moment in the game was when Royal Williams scored on a 5 yard run on fourth down with only 5 seconds left before halftime that put the Patriots up 13-3. Royal Williams would score his second touchdown of the game when Kade Adkins hit him on a 5 yard slant to give the Patriots a 20-3 lead with 1:25 left in the third quarter. Defensive lineman Makai Gautreaux put the nail in the coffin when he picked off a screen pass & took it 21 yards for a touchdown to give the Patriots a commanding 26-3 lead with 7:27 left in the game. Javon Ricks would score on a 6 yard run for the Gators to cut the lead to 26-9, but it would be too late for his team to mount a comeback. Ellender wins their second game in a row to improve to 2-3 & South Terrebonne falls to 1-4. TO CHECKOUT FULL HIGHLIGHTS & INTERVIEWS CLICK THE LINK BELOW!! |
