The No. 4 ranked edge rusher in Louisiana according to 247Sports Jonathan Bax committed to TCU after an outstanding showing at their elite camp last month. Bax committed to Southern Miss earlier this summer, but after spending time with the TCU staff he had a change of heart.
"When I visited & camped at TCU the coaches was great along with the program having a winning tradition is what really sold me," Bax said. "After I decommitted from Southern Miss I still knew I didn't want to go into my senior year not locked in somewhere." Bax holds over 20+ offers & I wouldn't be surprised if he continues to have more schools offer him & even try to flip him before signing day in December. At 6-foot-2, 235 pounds he showed a lot versatility during the spring evaluation & also at some elite camps. His ability to be able to rush the passer & also play in space makes him a high valued prospect for this 2023 class. "Coach Gillespie & Coach Buckels made me feel real comfortable with my decision because of how they plan to use me when I get there," he said. "They were definitely a big reason why I feel like TCU is a place I can be successful at. Honestly no other school had my attention like TCU, which is why I committed when they offered me."

On Monday, the talented cornerback Ashton Stamps made it official that he was committing to his home state school LSU. Stamps is coming off of a stellar junior season & he's the No. 7 ranked cornerback in the state according to 247Sports. At the LSU elite camp last month is where Stamps impressed the LSU coaching staff going against some very elite competition.
"After getting coached by the staff at their camp & building a relationship with them, my heart told me this is where I needed to be," Stamps said. "Also, I wanted to go into my senior year focusing on my team & not my recruitment." Stamps is only the second cornerback to commit thus far in this 2023 class for the Tigers & he expressed that he feels that this staff is building something special. "I love the coaches on this staff," he said. "Coach Carter, Sherman Wilson, & Jordan Arcement played a big role in this decision, I know those connections will expand as time goes on." Stamps is sort of a late bloomer with only 3 power five offers from Missouri, Nebraska, & LSU. At 6-foot, 180 pounds Stamps could end up being one of the best players in this LSU class when we look back three years from now.
