Jardin Gilbert is ranked the No. 9 safety in the country & the No. 10 overall prospect in Louisiana according to 247Sports. On Aug 2, Gilbert announced his top five schools via twitter that included Alabama, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Mississippi St, & Southern. Many were surprised that Gilbert included an HBCU school in his top five, but he expressed that it wasn’t a publicity stunt & he’s really considering Southern to take his talents to. The 6’1, 175 pound prospect has played WR & DB for U-High the last two years. A lot of schools have been recruiting Gilbert for receiver, but he has let it be known that he wants to play safety in college. The 4-Star prospect took the time out & did a zoom interview with G-Sportz discussing why he put Southern in his top five, a timeline when he wants to be committed by, his passion behind the Black Lives Movement & much more.
