The Terrebonne Tigers put the state on notice Friday night beating archrival nemesis Hahnville 41-0 in their first game of district play. The Tigers improve to 5-0 on the season giving the program only their second win versus Hahnville since 1983. The three headed monster of Terrebonne (Ja’Khi Douglas, Chaz Ward, Keshawn James) gave a really good Hahnville defense fits all night long. James finished the game with 87 yards rushing & 1 touchdown pass, Douglas found the end zone three different ways (punt return, rushing, receiving), & Ward led the attack on the ground with 141 yards rushing to go with 3 touchdowns. What makes this group so dynamic is the versatility of James & Douglas. Both can play multiple positions on either side of the ball. Defensive coordinators will have their hands full trying to game plan for (James, Douglas, Ward) on Friday nights, & there might not be a more talented 1-2-3 punch in 5A than these three. One word that comes to mind when you watch these three play is, “SPECIAL”. Terrebonne’s defense might have been just as if not more impressive than the offense. Terrebonne held Hahnville’s offense to 132 yards of total offense & forced 4 turnovers on the night. Senior linebacker Dillon Babin was big time wreaking havoc all night finishing the game with a block punt, 1 sack, 3 TFLs, & 9 tackles. The Terrebonne defense as a whole was stingy showing that they are one of the better defenses in 5A.
