The Wossman Wildcats fell to the Madison Prep Chargers 57-38 in the Class 3A state championship game on last Saturday at Burton Coliseum. The Chargers never trailed in the game because of their stifling defense, which gave them a 30-12 lead at the half. The Wildcats was able to cut the lead to nine going into the fourth after a big and one by freshman point guard Antron Mason making the score 41-32. The Chargers would go on a 16-6 run to put the Wildcats away in the fourth behind a big performance from senior Dez’Mond Perkins. He was named Most Outstanding Player finishing with 21 points, 7 rebounds & 2 blocks. What made this win even more impressive was that Seton Hall signee Percy Daniels didn’t score a single point in the game for the Chargers because of foul trouble most of the game.
