Madison Prep Advances To State Semifinals

Both teams came into the quarterfinals matchup as two of the most talented teams in the state regardless of class. 
Madison Prep the No. 3 seed & Booker T. Washington the #8 seed were both expected to be preseason favorites to get to the top 28 in Lake Charles. 
The Chargers came out fast leading 17-12 after the first with Jalen Williams hitting a timely three as time expired. 

Going into the half the Chargers extended their lead to 31-24. The Lions cut the lead to 39-34 going into the the fourth after a big quarter from Tyrese Johnson & Coryell Pierce, who combined for 11 points in the third. 
The Lions would give the Chargers all they could handle in the fourth, but the guard play from Savion Turner, Kavon Shannon, & Denziel Perkins was just too much. The Chargers would go on to win in a close one 54-52 to advance to the semifinals against Carroll in the Cajundome. 

Denziel Perkins led Madison Prep with 16 pts while Percy Daniels & Jalen Williams finished with 11 pts a piece. Tyrese Johnson led Booker T. Washington with 18 pts & Kyren Ratliff finished with 13 pts.
