The Lutcher Bulldogs opened up district play versus the Vandebilt Catholic Terriers with a dominating win 42-7. Senior quarterback D'Wanye "Lunch" Winfield had an incredible performance finishing the game with 238 yards passing, 152 yards rushing, & 4 total touchdowns. The Bulldogs struck early when D'Wanye Winfield hit Trenton Chaney for a 62 yard bomb for a touchdown to go up 7-0 with 6:35 left in the first quarter. Winfield came right back on their next possession & scored on a 43 yard keeper to go up 14-0 with 53 seconds left in the first quarter. The Terriers responded back when Robert Blanchard connected with Teddy Gawlik on a 9 yard fade for a touchdown to make the score 14-7 with 9:14 left in the second quarter. Touchdowns from Winfield on a 36 yard keeper & a 6 yard run off of a speed sweep from Tylin Johnson put the Bulldogs up 28-7 at the half. Winfield accounted for his fourth touchdown of the night when he scored on a 18 yard keeper to extend the Bulldogs lead to 35-7 with 9:51 left in the third quarter.
