Lutcher (4-0) dominated by rushing for more than 400 yards to continue their undefeated streak. A big reason behind the rushing attack was because of the Bulldogs offensive line led by Nicholls St commit Semaj Scott. They also snapped a four-game losing streak to St. James. The Bulldogs quarterback D’Wanye “Lunch” Winfield was a man amongst boys rushing for 259 yards & 5 touchdowns. He also went 6-of-8 passing for 58 yards. At halftime, the Bulldogs were on top 28-0 but the Wildcats would show some life in the third quarter when running back Daniel Jupiter finally put them on the board with a 4-yard touchdown run. The Wildcats came back the following possession & made the score 28-12 after a block punt that resulted in a touchdown recovery by Daniel Jupiter. The Bulldogs continued their rushing attack the rest of the game scoring on two straight possessions to make the score 41-14. Lutcher snapped a four-game losing streak to St. James & made a case that they should be a team to keep an eye in 3A come playoff time.
