E.D White 3 star athlete Brandon Legendre made it official on Sunday commmiting to the University of Louisiana-Lafayette at their elite prospect camp.

1st year Louisiana-Lafayette head coach Billy Napier has to be ecstatic to keep the highly touted Legendre in the state with all the major D-1 offers he’s picked up. Legendre currently holds offers from Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, UTSA, TCU, SMU, Arizona St, Kansas, West Virginia, Kentucky, & many more. It’s evident that coach Napier & his staff made a big impression on Legendre from the beginning since he took the job this past December. “From the very beginning ULL felt like home,” Legendre said. “Coach Napier & his staff really believe in me as a player, but more as a man & that was big for me. It was big to me how he always talked about making his players into better men. He is a guy I see myself loving to work with every single day. Their offense is a system I could thrive in & see myself doing great things.”

Legendre will only have to go about a hour & a half up the road to go to school & he emphasized how that played a part into his decision to stay close to home. “Staying close to home is huge to me,” Legendre said. “I can’t remember a time that I’ve played & my family wasn’t there to watch me. After evaluating everything that was something I didn’t want to give up.”

Two weeks ago Coach Napier & his staff got big commitment from Rummel quarterback Chandler Fields. Legendre expressed how that was big to him because he felt they could do something special together in Lafayette. “Chandler & I have been talking a lot as of late ever since he committed,” Legendre said. “We’ve been talking about breaking records but most importantly winning is something we know we can definitely bring to the program. Me & Chandler know how awesome ULL is & we want to get more studs up there so they can see how great of a place it is as well.”

Legendre is arguably the most electrifying athlete in the state & when he touches the ball he can take it the distance at any given moment. This kid was clocked at a 4.39 laser at the Nike Opening camp this past April, which is why he’s a touchdown waiting to happen when he gets the ball. It’s no doubt ULL got a steal & I see coach Napier’s offense fitting Legendre very well when he gets there come next year.
