On Wednesday, the 3-Star cornerback out of John F. Kennedy High School committed to Ole Miss. The No. 4 ranked cornerback in Louisiana according to 247Sports. He had been in contact with the coaching staff for some months, but he finally received an offer from the Rebels June 12. "I took a long look at the DBs on their roster & I feel like I will have a good chance to play early," Causey said. "My relationship with the coaching staff is pretty good, but especially with the defensive coordinator Coach Pete (Golding)." Causey currently holds 14 offers from schools like Mississippi St, Missouri, Colorado, Nebraska, Georgia Tech, etc. Many thought LSU would offer Causey after he had an outstanding showing at their elite camp two weeks ago where he was arguably the best DB there. He also measured in at 6-foot with a 75 inch wing span, & oh by the way he was clocked at a 4.55 in the forty yard dash. "I like the fact that Ole Miss is far away from home, but not too far," Causey said. "The coaches have been recruiting me by showing me that they plan on using me everywhere in the secondary because I'm versatile." One of the traits that stands out the most is Causey's mentality no matter what setting he is in or who he's lining up against. It will be interesting to see if lead recruiter Pete Golding can keep this kid committed leading up to December's first signing period.
