The H.L Bourgeois Braves football team has a fairly young group with some potential prospects to keep an eye on this coming fall. There were few players that stood out during the Braves spring practice earlier this week that head coach Tawaski Anderson & his staff should be excited about going forward. C/O 2025 DL/OL Tyron Winslow - The 6-foot-5, 260 pound soon to be freshman showed flashes that he can be an impact player at either the 3-tech or offensive tackle for the Braves in the future. He showed really good feet & explosiveness in drill work during spring practice, but the real test will come when the team gets in full pads on next week. And with Winslow still techniqually in the 8th grade, his potential going forward is through the roof. C/O 2024 ATH Ty'Drick Stewart - The 6-foot-1, 205 pound soon to be sophomore sat out this past season due to covid-19. He will be used in a variety of ways at tight end, defensive end, and linebacker. He's an excellent athlete who shows advanced footwork and technique for a freshman. Stewart has already established himself as one of the leaders on the team & he will be highly sought after by colleges sooner than later. He is also a really good basketball player & will be one of the better two sport athletes in the area. C/O 2022 LB Dajorean Curry - Last season Curry was one of the most productive players on the Braves defense. He is very physical at the point of attack & doesn't hesitate to take on blockers or ball carriers. Curry's aggression really helps him to beat blockers that are bigger than him & he has the intangibles you look for in a linebacker. C/O 2022 LB/Safety Dalton Johnson Jr. - The 5-foot-11, 182 pound Johnson was excellent last season in his role as a rush outside linebacker. The Braves coaching staff are expected to move Johnson around on defense more this season to show his versatility. He is an explosive athlete in short areas who has good acceleration and can close on plays quickly. Johnson definitely has the athleticism & speed to play safety/rover at the next level.
