After a thrilling overtime victory versus Thibodaux the first time these two teams played, many thought we would be in for a thriller once again. On last Friday, Hahnville junior Claudell Harris Jr. was outstanding in the first quarter scoring 20 of his game high 29 points in that quarter. Hahnville led 34-18 at the end of the first & wouldn’t look back. Defensively & offensively Hahnville showed why they should be a team to lookout for come playoff time. At the half Hahnville led 48-30 that put Thibodaux in a huge hole going into the second half. Junior Kaden Pierre caught fire in the second half scoring 15 of his 27 points in the second half to go with 13 rebounds. Kyren Lacy led Thibodaux with 15 points & Darwin Davisfinished with 14 points. Hahnville took care of business versus Central Lafourche on Tuesday night with 66-61 win. Hahnville head coach Yussef Jasmine expressed that his team is not letting the success go to their heads. “We lost to Scotlandville by 48 points earlier in the year,” Jasmine said. “That was probably the worse lost of my career & I make sure to remind them of that.” Hahnville extended it’s winning streak to 12 games at (22-8 overall, 10-0 in district) setting up a big showdown versus H.L Bourgeois on the road Thursday night. Bourgeois is (22-6 overall, 8-1 in district) & has senior point guard Deondre Buggage leading the way who has been phenomenal all year for the Braves.
