The Patriots was in a hole early down 10-0 to the Gators in the first quarter after a 30 yard field from Shea Pitre & a 1 yard touchdown sneak from Christian Arceneaux. At the half, the Gators would lead 18-14 & both teams would go scoreless the entire third quarter. But at the start of the fourth, Patriots freshman quarterback Kade Adkins would connect with Louisiana Tech commit O’Ryan James on a 17 yard touchdown pass. This would give Ellender it’s first lead of the game 20-18. Junior running back Javon Ricks would score from 4 yards out to help the Gators regain the lead 26-20 with 4:27 left in the game. On fourth down, Kade Adkins would deliver a strike to O’Ryan James for a 21 yard touchdown pass to put the Patriots up 27-26 with 24 seconds left in the game. Ellender (3-4, 2-3 District 8-4A), which needed a win to seal a playoff berth in class 4-A will play the No. 3 seed Warren Easton on the road Friday night.
