Destrehan dominated district opponent Terrebonne in a 63-7 home win Friday night. Destrehan’s Tyler Morton *Nicholls St commit* was a jack of all trades on defense and special teams. He picked off two passes while also returning two punts for touchdowns. The Wildcats scored on their first possession after Razan Keller scored on a 46 yard run to go up 7-0. Morton made it 14-0 in the first quarter after he returned a punt for a 60 yard touchdown.The Wildcats went up 21-0 after defensive end Quinton Clark returned an interception for a touchdown. Talented sophomore Jai Eugene would take matters into his own hands & score on a 10 yard keeper in the second quarter to extend the lead to 28-0. Terrebonne’s only touchdown would come late in the second from Jaylin Lucas on a 4 yard touchdown run to make the score 28-7 at the half. The Wildcats defense was magnificent the whole night keeping the electric Lucas under 40 yards rushing on the night. The Wildcats would continue to run the score up in the second half going up 63-7 with 3:05 left in the third quarter after a scoop & score from Caleb Burks. Wildcats head coach Marcus Scott turned to his second string players the rest of the game with a running clock the whole fourth quarter. Destrehan improved to 3-1 overall, 2-0 in district & will travel to undefeated East St. John on Friday. Terrebonne falls to 2-2 overall, 1-2 in district & will host H.L Bourgeois.
