First year head coach Aaron Babin comes in after spending his last three seasons at Vandebilt Catholic as the offensive coordinator & before that he spent ten seasons as an assistant at his alma mater Central Lafourche. Babin is eager to getting this Gators program back to making the playoffs & competing for district championships. "I know what it takes to build a complete program," Babin said. "Being a discipline team is where it starts at. If we can get these kids to do things the right way in the classroom & in the community then the football aspect will take care of itself. I feel like we have a good group of seniors that can lead this team back to the playoffs." Here are some prospects for the Gators to keep an eye on this upcoming season. (Sr.) ATH Javon Ricks is coming off of a terrific junior campaign finishing with 13 touchdowns from scrimmage. Ricks will be used in a variety of ways running the ball, receiving, & in the return game. He's a touchdown waiting to happen because of his twitchiness, speed & vision. (Sr.) DB Dayne Robichaux will be the leader in the secondary for the second straight year. The two time all-district performer is a sure tackler & a ball hawk as well. (Sr.) DL Kevin Brunet is physical at the point of attack & he has a big motor. He should have his share of big plays this season for that Gators defense. (Jr.) OL Brooks Wunstell will add to a solid offensive line for the Gators. He's a tough nose gritty player that will help this offense a lot this season. (Jr.) OL Logan Mallard is a nasty physical offensive lineman that most guys in the trenches doesn't want to face. After getting a lot of experience as a sophomore last year, Mallard should be an all-district performer by season's end. (Jr.) DB Georsyn Neville brings more athleticism to the Gators secondary along with Robichaux. Displays good ball skills for a defensive back & he should have a chance to get his hands on a number of interceptions this season.
