First year head coach Tyler Lewis is a little more than a week away from the first official game of the season versus South Terrebonne. Lewis comes in with 11 years of coaching experience with stints at his alma mater West St. John, Terrebonne, St. James, Houma Jr. High, & West Thibodaux Middle. "It's no reason why Terrebonne can't be one of the best programs in 5A year in & year out," Lewis said. "We did a lot of things this past summer to build team chemistry because I know how big that is for a team when they have to face adversity throughout the season. We have a chance to be a good team right now with the talent we have, but talent alone won't get it done." Here are some prospects for the Tigers to keep an eye on this upcoming season. (Soph.) WR Quincey McKay returns after contributing last season as a freshman & look for him to be play a bigger role this year. At 6-foot-1, 185 pounds McKay is a big target that does a really good job of coming down with contested catches. (Jr.) DL Talen Bingham will be the big man in the middle once again for the Tigers. Coming off of a 2nd team all-district year last season, look for the 6-foot-2, 300 pounder to be a key piece to how the Tigers perform on defense. (Jr.) WR Kylan Billiot had a solid sophomore campaign last year & after a big offseason, he looks like he could be in for a stellar season. At 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, Billiot has the athleticism & playmaking ability to be a major impact player for the Tigers. He holds 2 offers from Nicholls St. & Southeastern University. Billiot also holds a basketball offer from Nicholls St. (Jr.) RB Jayce Johnson will be the lead back this season & the Tigers coaching staff are excited to get him heavily involved on offense in a variety of ways running as well as catching the ball out of the backfield. He definitely showed flashes last season that he can be one of the Tigers best players on offense. (Jr.) OL Shawn Pledger will be somebody the Tigers running backs would want to run behind if they want to have success. He'll make his presence felt for sure this season.... (Jr.) DE/LB Tydrick Stewart will be the leader on the defense & he'll be one of the better edge rushers in that 7-5A district this season. He should have an opportunity to get double digit sacks this year. (Jr.) DB Kevon Garner is somebody the Tigers coaching staff is looking for to take that next step this season. Garner possesses good traits with fluid hips & speed which will bold well for him in a pass happy 7-5A district. (Sr.) QB Kyrin Robinson is going into his third year as the Tigers starter behind center. Every year he's shown some progress & his ability to escape out of pressure because of his athleticism will give defenses a lot of problems. And with so many weapons on offense, Robinson should have his best season running & throwing. Other notable names to pay attention to are (Sr.) WR Evan Oliver, (Sr.) LB Colby Jones, (Sr.) DB Greg Harding Jr.
