Booker T Washington ATH - Damian Alexander C/O 2021: Alexander was one of the DBs at the camp for sure. Was very impressive during individual instruction with Nicholls State DB coach Chris Thompson & for the one on one portion of the camp. He is coming off a very good sophomore campaign where he played receiver & corner. Be on the lookout for this rising junior this upcoming season. South Lafourche OL - Jhy Orgeron C/O 2020: Orgeron is a very skilled offensive lineman & moves really well at 6-foot-4, 266 pounds. He won MVP for the best offensive lineman at the camp & is continuing to raise his stock going into his senior year. He currently holds one offer at the moment from Southeastern. Higgins DB - Carline Davis C/O 2020: Davis didn’t win the MVP for best DB but he was clearly best one at the camp in my mind. Very fluent in drill work & showed really good hips to change direction throughout the camp. You can see that he is in for a big senior year. Davis currently holds offers from UTSA, McNeese State, Arkansas Pine-Bluff, Southern, & Grambling. Terrebonne WR - Chavez Brown C/O 2021: Brown put the Nicholls coaching staff on notice with his play at the camp for sure. His 6-foot-2 athletic frame gave majority of the DBs that lined up against him problems all day. Although, he still needs to improve as a route runner he showed that he can create separation. Brown showed that he has the tools to be a household name before it’s all said & done. Edna Karr DE/LB - Josh Randall C/O 2020: Randall won damn near every rep in one on ones because he is really really good coming off the edge, it’s just that simple. It’s a reason why he finished his junior year with 26 sacks & he showed it at the camp. Randall holds one offer from Lamar. West St. John LB - Kailep Edwards C/O 2022: Edwards was super impressive throughout every part of the camp. He was very instinctive, showed the ability to play in space well, & showed his competitiveness in every drill including one on ones. Expect this kid to be one of the top recruits not just in the state but in the country soon enough. Edwards holds offers from Mississippi State & Lamar Terrebonne WR - Jaylin Lucas C/O 2022: Lucas was clocked at a 4.54 in the forty yard dash & was the best route runner at the camp hands down. He mastered every drill & Nicholls WRs coach Sean Murphy raved about Lucas’s play throughout the camp. Opelousas Catholic WR - Keon Coleman C/O 2021: Coleman had a number of big time catches up top over a few defenders’ heads that left spectators in awe at the camp. Coleman is extremely raw & needs to polish up some facets of his game, but at 6-foot-3 with a 36 inch vertical he could end up being a stud by his senior year. Amite LB/DE - James McGowan C/O 2020: This kid showed that he is a heck of an athlete at the camp. He showed his versatility by being able to pass rush & cover a TE or RB in one on ones. McGowan holds an offer from Southern. Ellender WR - Tamaj Vergin C/O 2023: Vergin continued his camp tour this summer with another impressive performance in front of the Nicholls staff. He won majority of his one on one reps with a few highlight acrobatic catches. Vergin was by far one of if not the best soon to be freshman at the camp. Central Lafourche QB - Ashtrein Duncan C/O 2020: Duncan was awarded MVP of the camp for the best quarterback & with good reason. The soon to be senior showed that he has elite arm strength to go with some good touch. After his performance at the camp he looks like he could be the best pure quarterback in the Tri-Parish this upcoming season. Thibodaux LB/Safety - Rolaun Richard C/O 2021: Richard was one of the most intriguing prospects at the camp because of his athleticism & physical attributes. After playing linebacker his first two years, Richard is transitioning to safety. He still is a ways away, but the Nicholls staff liked what they seen from him throughout the camp.
