Woodlawn 4-star QB Rickie Collins made it official today committing to the LSU Tigers after decommitting from Purdue just over a week ago. Collins was committed to Purdue for over a year, but after Louisiana recruiter Marty Biagi left Purdue to take a job at Ole Miss that sort of changed things.
Collins expressed that when Biagi left Purdue his communication with the rest of the staff was different & LSU's staff led by quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan turned up the heat to keep him home. Collins was an Elite 11 finalist this past April & he's the No. 3 ranked QB in the state according to 247Sports. He had offers from major programs like Florida St, Oregon, Arkansas, Washington, Virginia Tech, Louisville, & a host of others. Landing Collins gives the Tigers their 19th commitment for the 2023 class & this should make Brian Kelly feel really comfortable about the future at quarterback in Death Valley. The Tigers only took one quarterback in last year's class with 4-star Walker Howard & Kelly expressed they only wanted one quarterback for the 2023 class as well. At the BK Splash two weeks ago on LSU's campus, the staff did a phenomenal job of making it clear to Rickie & his mom Precious Collins that he was a major priority. Unlike the previous staff, Collins felt a better vibe & chemistry this time around.
With Collins, the Tigers are getting an athletic dual-threat quarterback that can make any throw on the route tree. He has a good frame at 6-foot-3, 190 pounds with an IQ for the game that's off the charts. He's going to be a kid that comes in as a freshman that should pickup on the playbook & all the nuances of being a college quarterback pretty fast. All & all the Tigers got a REALLY good one.

St. Augustine 4-star offensive tackle Tyree Adams gave the LSU Tigers his commitment at their Bayou Splash event on campus this past weekend. Adams is the second offensive lineman to commit to the Tigers & now they have a total of 17 prospects committed for the 2023 class.
"I love everything about what LSU is doing right now, that's why it was easy to make this decision," Adams said. "I knew that I I wanted to lock myself in with a program before the start of my senior year so I can just focus on trying to win a state championship." The 6-foot-5, 285 pound Adams is very athletic with an impressive basketball background. One LSU coach expressed that Adams has the traits to be a day 1 draft pick if he continues to progress. With signing day not until December, the Tigers will still have to fight off Florida, Georgia, and others the rest of the way. "I was real high on Florida, Georgia, & Ole Miss because all of them are such good programs with a lot to offer," Adams said. "But coach Frank (Wilson) & I have such a good relationship, especially with him being a St. Aug guy. He really made me realize the big picture of playing for LSU & how this decision can benefit me in so many ways other than football. And with coach Brad (Davis) coaching I know that he can develop me into the player I want to be because of his track record." There are still a few more uncommitted top ranked prospects in Louisiana that the Tigers are trying to get on board for this 2023 class. Adams expressed that he wants to make sure the Tigers bring in a top ranked class. "As of today I'm recruiting Catholic WR Shelton Sampson, Zachary safety Kylin Jackson, & Woodlawn QB Rickie Collins to be apart of this class," Adams said. "I know if we get them this class can be really special." CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO CHECKOUT ADAM'S JUNIOR FILM!! CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO WATCH FULL EPISODE!! |
