Zachary bounced back from last week’s loss to U-High by beating a undefeated Walker team 38-9. The Broncos took a business like approach to this game holding a very talented Walker offense to just 132 yards of total offense & 4 takeaways on the game. The Broncos offense finished the game with 427 yards of total offense with 127 rushing yards coming from running back Kyle Landry. Keilon Brown had a pretty good showing finishing with 168 yards passing(2 TDs) & 70 yards rushing (1 TD) making things difficult for the Wildcat defense to keep him under control. The Broncos defensive & offensive line play was outstanding on the night & ultimately was the difference in the game. Defensive tackle Caleb Jackson was disruptive all night long for the Broncos getting constant penetration on run plays, which led to why the Wildcats longest run on the night was only 6 yards. Jackson finished the game with 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble, & 3 TFLs. Even with the two early losses this season, the Broncos seem to still be a team that can get back to the dome & repeat as 5A state champs. I think it’s safe to say this team won’t lose another game this regular season & should go into the playoffs hitting on all cylinders as a top 5 seed.
