Written by Jonrell Jones The East St. John Wildcats dominated the Hahnville Tigers from start to finish. The Wildcat’s size was too much to handle for the Tigers. East St. John was showed a steady mix of pass and run plays to drive down the field each possession. Marcus Johnson led the Wildcat’s offense completing 12 of 14 for 216 yards and 3 touchdowns. Junior receiver Kylon Harris accounted for all three touchdowns. Harris had jaw breaking spectacular catch that extended the Wildcats lead to 30-8. Hahnville received the opening kickoff but was stalled out by the monster Wildcats defense. The Wildcat’s offense flashed it's dominance with a 16-play drive that finished with a Marcus Jackson run. The drive took more than 7 minutes off the clock. The Wildcats led 6-0 after that point. The Wildcats got the ball back with a short field after Hahnville fail to convert on a 4th down attempt. Cortez Fisher cap the scoring for the first half for the wildcats with a 2- yard touchdown run to make it 18-0. The Hahnville Tigers finally put a perfect drive together in a 2-minute drill only to run out of time at the 1-yard line. On 4th down Fisher took a fake punt 70 yards to make the score 24-0. Harris accounted for the other scores for the Wildcats in the 2nd half with two touchdown grabs. Hahnville had a bright spot from running back Trey LaBranch who finished with 149 yards rushing & 1 touchdown. The Wildcats would go on to win convincingly 38-16 to improve to 3-0 on the year & Hahnville falls to 2-1. Hahnville will host Thibodaux & East St. John will travel to Higgins.
